Account access

Thinklay uses an HTTP-only session cookie for email sign-in, normally valid for seven days. The hosting gateway may set its own sign-in cookies when that sign-in method is used. Signing out ends the active application session.

Your room and writing

Local storage remembers private room credentials, room lists, theme preferences, guide choices and unsent writing. Drafts are kept for up to 30 days. Other preferences and room credentials remain until you clear them. These features support access and continuity rather than advertising.

Room setup and hosting

New rooms require an account. Hosting usage is counted against that account across devices; we no longer use a browser cookie for hosting allowances. Before sign-in, room setup can be remembered in local storage for up to 24 hours, so returning from registration restores your question and settings. Creating the room or signing out clears that setup draft. Older hosting cookies are ignored and expire naturally.

Your controls

A tab-session storage marker prevents repeated landing visits in the same tab from inflating anonymous activity totals. It contains no identifier and clears when the tab session ends. Landing counts respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control.

You can clear site data using your browser settings, discard drafts from the room menu, or sign out through the dashboard. Clearing room credentials can remove access to guest seats; download anything important first. Blocking browser storage may prevent the app from remembering your access or writing.

The application does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. Hosting-provider cookies are managed by the hosting provider. See our Privacy notice.
